It became 20 years in September 2017.
There are a variety of individual products, but no entry fee is taken.
It is best to contact Kyoto Isetan. They will kindly respond!
I do not know because I only see the basement! A
can enter. I think it is best to go up to the 10th floor from the large stairs (please go up on the escalator) before 10 o'clock and wait for the store to open.
January 1 is a holiday. January 2nd (Tuesday) 9:30 am-First sale
It is likely to be sold out because it is a Christmas season. I think that stock confirmation is good by calling directly.
Huge isetan with lots of shopping and food, only problem, it's a bit pricy. Good staff and location
Place to go crazy with all types of Japanese snack treats.
Fine department store within Kyoto station. It has super-premium brands as well as the usual Dept store set up with a bit of Japanese flavor. There is a whole section for Studio Ghibli themed items (Totoro etc) in the 7th floor. Tax free returns in 3rd floor. Be careful to go to tax free office before 7pm as after that it is crowded, could be more than 50 persons queuing. Line is fast, although feels like a waste of time lining up for 6% refund. Try B1 and B2 food markets. B2 has very good sushi which is discounted after 7pm. Toilets are clean and nice. Great baby care facilities in the 7th floor.
Very large shopping mall, beautiful architectural design
There is park on the highest level you must see!
They have high end goods you don't expect to find at a train station department store. Ex: Burberry coats at a very good price $650 USD at 6/2015 exchange rate. This is for the local Japanese market (black label). US label is at least $1000+
This has a fantastic food court. For those of you from Australia think David Jones on steroids. The Japanese really do know how to present food. And they sell the Farm Designs cheesecake....mmmm
Very large department store. lots of souvenirs for the overseas traveler. Floors B1 and B2 are full of delicacies and food!
Awesome place! A lot of varieties! Everything is so beautiful!!
Great!Highly recommended. Good variety of high end products, friendly staff and 5% discount with the isetan card as well as tax free purchase.
Very nice. So many stores! Awesome
Pricey department store, with a selection of everything. Go underground for for groceries, or go to the top for some delicious restaurants (you will find one to satisfy your appetite).Closes at 8pm
A fantastic department store. Don't miss the food court as you can find an amazing variety of high quality foods to takeaway.
Love the basement food area with beautiful cakes.
High end shopping mall beside the JR station
Delicious food , chiken and pork. Nice views
Awesome view from the roof top and very special long staircase. A must see.
Large department store in Kyoto station. Everything is for the rich; everything was expensive. What I really liked was the restaurants on the 11th floor. Pricey, but there is a lot of good food there. Take the elevators up, the esculators can take a long time.
Full of delicious food, branded goods, and easy to access subway lines
poor selection of expensive brands and goods. surprised it is able to occupy such a prime location. avoid if you actually know how to shop
Very bad customer service and rude management. Don’t be tricked shopping there. Go shop across the street at Aeon.
Had the rudest experience with a translator shop girl at the Shiseido/Cle de Peau counter in the evening. Flippant and sarcastic. I've rarely had bad service in Japan so this was particularly jarring.
Lota of stores, desserts, cafes and restos. Almost everything is here! The architecture's really amazing.. As well as the very very long escalator. Goodness! The view at the top was also spectacular!
Great customer service, was buying the Gentan bag the 2 customer service personnel one was very attentively serving my wife, the other one got me a chair to sit and was very friendly and customer centric, was buying some custards and the personnel go out her way to help us with credit card payment; also bought some traditional Japanese fans and they were carefully wrapped. Overall top notch customer service and great experiences highly recommended!
Another complex department store in Japan. A lot of stores in there but it seems abit old and need a face life.
Must go to the food hall in the basement... it is mind-blowing!!! So much wonderous food to choose from. Get a bento box for you train travel or whatever you may doing in Kyoto
Great selection good prices!
Interesting dept store with good food in basement and top floor
Every floor is impressive, it has massive things here. Almost anything and everything you are looking for. Go to the basement if you are a bit hungry.
Must visit while in kyoto. Unique environment
There are many restaurants on the highest floor. Depending on the place it could be pricy.
Store with everything. This is a middle range department store. They sell some high end designer goods and some mid-range as well. Selling everything from fountain pens, to parasols. They have cloths and pretty much anything you are looking for outside of specialized gear.It is a great place to check out if you have some time to kill or if you are looking for something special.
The most concentrated source of deliciousness on the planet.
a great departmwnt store
High end stuff, not for tourisr
Excellent place to get gifts or food treats. The level of service is excellent and everything is wrapped and packaged perfectly. The Japanese really are masters at details. Highly recommend checking out the food shops on the 2 bottom floors. I only checked out the food and I didn't shop at the high end stores (Prada, Gucci etc..) but it sure looked nice. Prada, Gucci etc.
Very crowded and huge. Must spend a whole day to cover this department store. They opened only until 8pm.
Automatic currency exchanging machine in ISETAN 2nd floor! Amazing! we can exchange many kind currencys!!
Got a lot of food here. Just prepare your money as it is a bit expensive.
Love this place especially the food section at the bottom most floor. Tons of variety and reasonably priced too.
Multiple levels of shopping and restaurants which is easy to navigate as there are escalators originating at the JR station all in line to the top floor.
Great store. It’s massive and takes some time to walk around. Don’t miss the food on the basement floor.
I’ve never found anything interesting or something different from other department store.
DO NOT MISS.Light illuminationg on Iseton steps that presents Kyoto's culture and life style in the evening is very interesting.
HIGH end shopping at the train station. Great food halls.
Huge store in Kyoto train station. Fun to just look around. Can be pricey though.
Bought a bento from the basement before I hopped on the bus to the airport. Got the mid-range one at around 1000 yen. It was good, and I had a wholesome meal while waiting to board the plane.
Riding up and down the escalators is an experience in itself. Also had a pleasant tour through the kimono and materials section when looking for a toilet. Great shopping experience and the top floor has plenty of eating options
This is my favorite department store in Kyoto. Located centrally in Kyoto Station, Isetan has everything you could want from fresh foods to great cakes and pies, clothing, stationary, and an epic ramen floor. The food floors are always busy and are a Japanese experience unto themselves. Seriously everything is here and shoppers can spend hours here. I like their made to measure shirts and suits which although pricy are of good quality. Also the elevators are amazing!
The food court was amazing and I enjoyed my experience at this venue. Details are a bit fuzzy but I loved Kyoto and everything I did there.
